Equipment

Teepakki rents hiking equipment to Teepakki and Hyde members for hiking use. Loaning equipment is free of charge when they are used in events of Teepakki or Hyde. During large events of Teepakki and Hyde, e.g. Autumn Hike or Midsummer Paddling, participants of such events are prioritized in equipment needs.

  1. Send an email to the storage manager storage@hydepakki.fi
    In the message, write:
    - What equipment do you need?
    - When and how long do you need the equipment?
  2. Agree a time with the storage manager, when you will come pick up the equipment from Teepakki storage in Otaniemi.
  3. Pay the rental fee according to the payment instructions below. You also need to pay the membership fee to Teepakki or Hyde if you are not a member currently. Loaning equipment is free in Hydepakki events.
  4. Arrive at the storage on time. The storage manager will give you the address and wait for you at the door. Show the payment receipt.
  5. Agree a time for returning the equipment and listen carefully to equipment maintenance instructions. Dry and maintain the equipment according to instructions after your hike.
  6. Enjoy the nature!

Rental terms and conditions

By renting equipment from Teepakki, you agree to follow these terms, maintenance instructions and other instructions given prior to the rental.

Insurance

Teepakki's property is not insured.

Returning the equipment

The rented equipment must always be returned serviced, dried, and cleaned no later than one week after the rental period ends. If the storage manager deems that the equipment is not in a returnable condition, an additional rental fee will be agreed upon separately to cover the time spent on servicing the equipment.

Using the equipment

The renter is responsible for the safe and proper use of the equipment. The Teepakki inventory manager will provide usage guidance if necessary. The equipment may only be used for its intended purpose.

Damage or loss of equipment

In case of damage, the renter must promptly inform the Teepakki storage manager of the incident. The renter is responsible for repairing or having the equipment repaired at their own expense to the condition it was in at the start of the rental period.

If equipment is destroyed, damaged beyond repair, or otherwise lost, the renter is obligated to pay the full value of the lost item or to replace it with an equivalent item. The value of the lost item is determined by the cost of a comparable item of the same age and condition.
