How can I become a member?
You can join here. Aalto University students and other Teepakki-minded pay a membership fee to Teepakki’s bank account and students of the University of Helsinki and other HYDE-minded pay to HYDE’s account.
Where can I get information about events?
I would like to go to a hike but I don't have any equipment.
Hydepakki lends sleeping bags, sleeping mattresses, tents, camp cookers and backpacks for free for its events. Usual outdoor clothing and sneakers are enough for many hikes, but beware of wet weather and ask the organizers if you are unsure about your equipment. Also ask from friends to lend equipment.
I am not a member. Can I still participate that one day mushroom trip to Nuuksio?
I haven't hiked before. Can I join you as a beginner?
Everybody is welcome regardless of experience. Almost all events are targeted to all levels of experience. Participants are divided to groups according to their desired walking distance. Some longer hikes and paddling trips require prior experience, but in those cases it is mentioned in the event details. Before such longer hikes there often is a shorter practice hike arranged to gain experience and test the equipment.
I didn't notice Hydepakki until the spring of my fourth year of studies. Can I still join you in the middle of the academic year?
Yes you can! Activities are organized all year round, it doesn’t matter whether you join at the autumn or spring.
I am only interested in longer hikes. Can I participate just in those?
How can I participate in organizing events?
Contact the boards of Hyde and Teepakki at email@example.com and come to our planning meetings. You can also come to any event to share your interest in organizing events. If you would like to organize a day event, such as a swimming trip to Nuuksio or a relaxing Mölkky game night, you can send the event to all our members by our mailing list firstname.lastname@example.org.
